WELCOME TO JIM COLEMAN AUTO GROUP

The Coleman family has been a trusted name in the automotive business since the 1940s. Founded by Bill Coleman, the business began with selling Chryslers before transitioning to Capitol Cadillac in Washington D.C. In 1954, Mr. Coleman became the first sales manager of Suburban Cadillac in Bethesda, later acquiring the dealership and renaming it Coleman Cadillac in 1968.

In 1978, Mr. Coleman and his son Jim broke ground on a new dealership near Montgomery Mall, creating one of the largest Cadillac showrooms in the country. Jim Coleman took full control in 1980, becoming the youngest Cadillac dealer at the time. Recognizing the need for diversification, he expanded the business by adding a Toyota dealership in 1987 and later Infiniti in 1991.

Over the years, Jim Coleman Automotive has continued to grow, adding Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, and Nissan franchises across Maryland, including recent expansions with new Nissan dealerships in Bethesda and Silver Spring.
